Little can prepare you for the views from Whitbysteads Hill Farm - over the Eden Valley to the Pennines in North Cumbria. The farm is on the edge of Lake District, set amongst spectacular mountains whilst the ruined Lowther Castle sits imposingly in the foreground. There are red squirrels in the surrounding garden which has unusual varieties of Old English roses and is part of the National Garden Scheme.

DIRECTIONS: M6 going North take junction 39 via Shap. M6 going South take junction 40, A6 towards Shap. At Eamont Bridge, turn right to Pooley Bridge; 1m, left turn to Askham.
